Rebecca Covey from Esthetix MD in Bend, and Mary Nielsen from Spectrum Advanced Aesthetics spent last Thursday meeting with legislative counsel, state attorneys, legislative aides and the Board of Cosmetology last Thursday to work on amendments to House Bill 2642. These amendments include grandfathering in pathways, medical collaboration requirements, equipment inspection, and better definition of the non-ablative device modalities. It was a really positive meeting and we are excited to see this bill come to the legislature for a vote.
Please email Mitch Greenlick, Chairman of the Health Committee and express your support of this bill. It will provide jobs for estheticians, elevate the profession, and mandate training and education for estheticians operating lasers and other advanced devices, like radio frequency, IPL, ultrasound and others.
